Dear Tiffany

Dear Tiffany,

Today is your birthday and that is a most wonderful thing. My sister, for reasons unknown to me, was quite upset about turning 25, so I know that it might not feel wonderful, but it is and here is why:
1) When you were born, Pluto was still a planet. (Don't worry, it always will be to us because we know best.)
2) You have earned every right to call people "young'un" and "whippersnapper," though I'm sure you already do sometimes.
3) You're not high school you or even undergrad you. You're effin' awesome.
4) You can cite memories from "two decades ago" when you were in kindergarten. Once again, that might not seem like a good thing... BUT... two decades = a score (if you're Abe Lincoln, I guess).
5) 25 is a good number. It sounds good. It looks good. It's easy to add to, easy to multiply. It's a feel-good number.
6) You can rent a car now. Or just drive somebody else's as long as you have a license and they have insurance.
7) You're in a new age bracket and, therefore, will not be lumped in with 18- and 19-year-olds on surveys or questionnaires. You won't be college-age stereotyped anymore!
8) You are still youthful. You can get excited about little things like finding a $5 bill in your pocket or realizing that you still have candy left over from Easter.

And hey, if none of that makes you happy that it's your birthday (which you should be because, like I said, "wonderful!), remember that you're young, you're gorgeous, and you have a cool cat.

Happy Birthday-ly,

Me
